Overview
You can go from signing up to seeing your first purchase data without a sales call. Each step below links to the full documentation.1
Create your account
Sign up at dashboard.subtotal.com/sign-up with your work email or with Google, and name your team after your brand.→ Details: Getting Access
2
Request access
You’ll land on an access request form. Fill in your brand name, your name, and what you want to do with Subtotal. Our team will review your request. The dashboard stays locked while it’s pending and shows its status.→ Details: Getting Access
3
Start your subscription
Once your request is approved, the dashboard prompts you to start your subscription. The screen shows the plan your team is on: Starter by default, or the plan agreed with our team if one was arranged for you. Enter a billing email, add a payment method on a secure Stripe page, and accept Subtotal’s terms on behalf of your brand. Starter’s first month is free, and the dashboard unlocks as soon as the subscription starts. If you’re not the right person to sign for your brand, choose someone else handles billing and invite whoever is.→ Details: Billing & Plans · Team & Roles
4
Configure Subtotal Link
Add your brand name, logo, and the retailers your shoppers can connect. This is the experience your customers see when they link a retail account.→ Details: Subtotal Link
5
Configure entry points
Decide where customers start Subtotal Link. On Shopify, install Subtotal Connect and add the theme app block to your account page, or enable the profile UI extension. Neither is required: the Storefront API puts a link button anywhere on your storefront, and on any other site you can create an API key and build your own entry point with a Link token.→ Details: Subtotal Connect · API Reference
6
Link an account
Connect one of your own retail accounts through the entry point you just set up, so you see exactly what your customers will. Prefer simulated data first? Use the Event Simulator.→ Details: Subtotal Link
