Plans
Subtotal has three plans: Starter, Pro, and Enterprise. The pricing page is the authoritative reference for plan details, including prices, usage, and features. Starter is the plan you can start yourself. Pro and Enterprise are arranged with our team first: once the terms are agreed, they appear already filled in on your subscription screen, and you start the subscription the same way. Any member of your team can start it — owner or admin — as long as a payment method is added. Each plan includes a set amount of usage across several metrics: connections, purchases, and events. API requests and MCP queries are unlimited on every plan and are never billed. Usage beyond the included amounts is billed incrementally at your plan’s per-unit rates. The subscription screen shows your plan’s exact price and rates before you confirm, and the next-invoice estimate in settings → billing breaks down the usage you’ve accrued. Your dashboard shows usage against each allotment in real time. To move between plans later, or to talk about Enterprise, use upgrade plan under settings → billing to book time with our team, or email support@subtotal.com.Billing cycle
Starter and Pro are billed monthly. Paid billing begins one month after you start the subscription, and you can cancel before then without being charged. Pro terms can differ by arrangement with our sales team, and Enterprise billing is custom. Usage beyond the included amounts is settled at the end of each monthly period. Starter’s first month is free. When you start the subscription, your first platform fee invoice is issued with a one-time 100% discount, so $0.00 is due that day, and the emailed invoice doubles as your subscription confirmation. The discount covers the platform fee only: usage above your included amounts during that first month is still settled in arrears on the normal cycle. Pro has no free month, and its first monthly installment is charged to the card on file when you subscribe.Payment method
Starting your subscription requires a payment method. You add your card on a secure Stripe page, and future invoices are charged to it automatically. To update the card on file later:1
Open billing settings
Go to settings → billing in the dashboard.
2
Open the billing portal
Click manage billing on your plan card. Owners and admins can both do this.
3
Update your details
In Stripe’s secure portal, change the card on file, update your billing email and address, and review your invoice history. Subtotal never sees or stores your card number.
